Pet Dentistry

We are dedicated to maintaining the oral health of your dog or cat through our Pet Dental Care services, as well as performing dental and oral surgery as needed.

The veterinary professionals of Manchester Animal Hospital provide a comprehensive diagnosis and detailed treatment plan for diseases of the teeth, oral cavity, and maxillofacial area.

While oral or dental problems may be difficult for the owner to identify, some common signs of dental disease in pets include:

  • Increased drooling
  • Pawing at the mouth
  • Loose or missing teeth
  • Gingivitis (red, swollen, or bleeding gums)

Diagnostic testing includes a thorough oral examination with periodontal probing. State-of-the-art digital dental radiographs are performed to evaluate for disease of the dentition, invaluable in viewing parts of the tooth that cannot be visualized. Lesions that we typically treat include root abscesses, root fracture, root and crown resorption, dental anomalies, bone lysis associated with oral tumors, and mandibular and maxillary fractures.

Veterinary dental treatments we perform include:

  • Bad breath
  • Tartar and calculus buildup
  • Difficulty eating
  • Loss of appetite
  • Routing prophylaxis
  • Extraction of impacted or diseased teeth
  • Therapy for oral inflammation, such as stomatitis, gingivitis, destructive periodontal disease, and resorptive lesions
